Can Angels Help Skeptics?
This question was once posed by someone on our Facebook page. The easy answer is “yes.” But it is deserving of some back story.
Would it surprise you to know that I was once a total card-carrying skeptic?
As of 1987, I didn’t believe in any of this stuff. Some Lightworkers are born awakened to their gifts, but I wasn’t one of them. The little I knew about angels came from my Jewish upbringing and they fit into the category of Moses & the Red Sea which felt more mythical than real.
It wasn’t until my mid-20s that I found out I had psychic abilities. I was completely and utterly shocked and it caused me to redefine my entire belief system. It happened while I was taking a human development class as a part of an MBA program. The teacher had a metaphysical approach to life and began teaching us about Huna (Hawaiian shamanism), meditation and metaphysics. I remembering arguing in my first few papers about how this was all a bunch of hooey. No way. This stuff wasn’t real. It was the mid-1980s and The Law of Attraction had not yet become a mainstream concept. Yet we were being taught that our thoughts create our reality.
The class culminated in a weekend-long retreat where we were taught meditation techniques and remote viewing. It’s the remote viewing thing that busted my world open. I was able to do it. And so were 98% of my classmates. I couldn’t explain it. Except to accept that we all have psychic abilities. It. Freaked. Me. Out. Big time.
But wouldn’t you know it? The Powers That Be made sure that I had a support system in place. I went into work the next day and one of my friends said, “How was the weekend?” I leaned over and whispered to her, “Judy, I’m psychic!” and she started laughing… and then she laughed some more. Not a mocking like, “you must be kidding” laugh. But a true joyful laugh of recognition. You see, Judy is one of those rare people who has been open to her gifts since childhood. She is a beautiful and wise woman and she became my first spiritual teacher & a dear friend. 25 years later we still laugh about that moment.
At the time, I had NO idea that I would one day awaken to these gifts and that I would make this my career.
Who says God doesn’t have a sense of humor?
Can Angels Help Skeptics?
Back to our question of the day… Yes. The angels don’t mind if you don’t believe in them. What matters most is that you ask for assistance. This is a realm of free will. As such, you must invite them to support you. Once you ask, they will open the portals of angelic guidance and love.
One of the easy and fun ways to test this out is to begin asking for help with something easy like parking spaces (and this is one that I started with back in my skeptic days). When you are going somewhere and you know parking might be a challenge, ask your angels to prepare a parking space for you. It can be an informal request like, “Hi Angels. Can you get me a parking space in front of the 3rd Street Starbucks?” Begin testing it out and see what happens. It’s a fun way to begin working with the angels. It almost always works for me.
You can also ask the angels to connect you with inspiration, healing, abundance…wherever you need help.
It’s OK if you don’t believe. Even if you file it in the same category as “finding a lucky penny brings you good luck” or “making a wish while blowing out the candles on a birthday cake brings you good fortune” the angels will be delighted to receive your request and will begin bringing you angelic assistance.
Really, Parking? But Aren’t the Angels Needed for More Important Things?
One of the myths we’re dispelling today is the myth that if you ask the angels for help with something silly like a parking space that you’ll be pulling them off something really important like a sick child halfway around the world who really needs them. Be assured that there is an abundance of angelic assistance. Think of it the way you do the sun. You never think that you’ll use up too much sun. You know that the sun shines every day and there’s always enough. It’s the same with the angels & with God’s love. There’s more than enough to go around. So ask for the parking space. Say a prayer for the children of the world. And know that God’s love is more than the sun. God’s got it covered.
Love and blessings to you today!
