I’m sending you wishes of joy today. Sometimes it is not easy to listen to the wisdom of our joy. We’ve been taught to dilute it, not to trust it, because joy cannot always be trusted. So we create lives filled with duty and responsibility. Joy is left for the weekends… its left to children who really know how to relish joy… its left to unguarded moments of laughter that creep into an unsuspecting moment. But joy is truly a part of our divine guidance system. As we follow our joy, so do we step into our divine purpose. So honor joy in your life. If your life feels a bit void of joy at the moment, allow yourself to go seeking it.
Here is a wonderful exercise to help you connect with your authentic joy. Make a list of 10 things that you’d love to do someday. They can be random and impractical. Just allow your heart to unfold and start writing down everything you can think of. For example, my list might include:
- Visit with friends in Europe and do cool & awesome things
- Spend a long weekend in Big Sur or Carmel
- Visit the giant redwoods and have a nice long talk
- Spend the week in New York and see lots of musicals on Broadway
- Work with a food coach & chef and transition to raw/vegan diet
- Work with an inspiring trainer who can get my butt of the couch and into a love of exercise
- Visit LA regularly and hang out with friends
- Revamp my wardrobe and have only things I LOVE
- Take a wonderful writing class that inspires my heart and soul
- Write a fantabulous novel and fall in love with the characters
These are random and unrelated. And I have no idea which of them will come to pass. But as I allow the list to unfold, so do pieces of my heart’s desires come through. I want to write books, travel, enjoy a healthier lifystyle… Each of these contains pearls of guidance from my soul. They are reminders of what I want and what I am manifesting.
It can be so easy to disconnect from this wisdom because we are caught up in practical matters… How would I afford it? Where would I find the time? We get caught up in the logistics and strangle the flow of creativity and passion that is available in each of us.
So my Dears, throw off the shackles and make your list. Let it be bigger than life… let it be sweet and humble… let it be anything you want it to be… but most of all, let it be authentic. Release yourself from figuring out “how” it can happen. Just know that the world is filled with miracles — things can manifest on a dime if we simply allow the magic to find us.
Your joy is a gift from God. Follow it, and it will lead you on incredible adventures that make your soul giggle out loud.
